Porched house reimagined
This family home, reminiscent of old village farmhouses with its porches and façade image, was designed to fit into a rural setting 30 kilometres outside Budapest. The T-shaped floor plan facilitated an efficient separation of private zones from shared spaces. Sitting under the wooden frame of the spectacular porch, one has an unobstructed view of the rolling farmlands that surround the house. Although undoubtedly traditional in appearance, deep down, the building is modern in every sense of the word, as installed materials and MEP systems all comply with the latest requirements. We designed the building with a heat pump HVAC system, while the roof-mounted solar panels minimise utility costs.
