Small town charm
With four shops and nine larger offices, this building was designed to be realised in the city centre of Gödöllő – in fact, construction works have been roaring ahead since the spring of 2020. While having to fit into an unbroken row of buildings on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road, neighbouring houses represent a large variety of different styles, thus fitting into the environment was easier said than done. The odd, narrow-ish shape of the plot was another issue we had to overcome – nevertheless, we managed to find a solution that was accepted by city officials while not forcing the developer into too much of a compromise. Although we favoured conventional shapes and cladding materials, the overall appearance of the building is undoubtedly contemporary.
